BIG MOMMA's Like Father, Like Son Premieres at SM Megamall

Last April 7, I was invited by SM Cinema to watch Big Mommas 3:  Like Father, Like Son at SM Megamall Cinema 6.  But before that, I've seen first the trailer.  The trailer seems to me "it's-like-a-not-so-good-to-watch" movie until the time of the advance screening from 20th Century Fox, SM Cinema, and 97.9 Home Radio.

They reinvent the movie franchise.  The film makers opened the latest film up to an audience untapped by Big Mommas 1 and 2.  Essentially not making something that is not a shadow of the first two movies.

I agree to what they have done.  It not just an ordinary comedy movie anymore.  Giving importance to family relationships and friendship, building trust, and respect are some that I just learned from the movie and laugh at the same time.

Starring: Martin Lawrence, Brandon T. Jackson, Jessica Lucas, Faizon Love, Emily Rios, Portia Doubleday, Michelle Ang

Release Date:  April 13

So gear up and get ready for Big Momma's Like Father, Like Son.  Experience the convenience of SM Cineobile, your mobile, your ticket.  Movie Tickets delivered to your mobile phone through http://www.smcinema.com/.

Habitat Launches 4-year Campaign

Celebrity Ambassadors, private, business, government and youth sector rise to challenge towards social responsibility

On March 12, 2011 (Saturday), Habitat for Humanity Philippines proudly launched its massive social responsibility campaign entitled, “I Build...What Will You Build?”. The campaign period is in line with Habitat’s upcoming silver anniversary in 2013. Over the years, Habitat has built over 32,000 homes for families in need in 22 provinces across the Philippines. The country’s housing needs, however, are immense, and continue to increase each year. Currently, more than four million families or 20 million individuals are without a home. Habitat aims to build over 70,000 homes by 2015. The houses that will be built are for the following programs: Disaster Response and Risk Mitigation, Urban Renewal and Development, Peace Build, and Housing for Public Servants.

Habitat expresses thanks in its 23 years of existence, families in need were given the chance at better lives because of Habitat and its partners. As a gesture of gratitude, Habitat showcased an activity that gave volunteers, donors and advocates the chance to meet other like-minded individuals at the Greenbelt 5 Fashion Walk. The audience was treated to a special dance performance by Steps Dance Studio followed by a touching presentation on the impoverished Filipino’s “This is a Familiar Story” – a look into the vicious cycle that keeps underprivileged families trapped in a world of poverty. The story showed the current state of poverty in the country and how easy it is for more privileged citizens to help improve their lives simply by extending a helping hand.

Diverse advocates and ambassadors for Habitat in a show of faith towards one mission, individuals and groups from different sectors have signed up to rally for Habitat’s vision of providing homes for Filipino families in need. Celebrity ambassadors have committed to become the voice of the organization and to help inform the public about how to make a difference through Habitat. Key personalities from the news and entertainment industry have offered their support and commitment statements at the launch: theatre actress Cris Villonco and Star Magic’s Matteo Guidicelli, who are Habitat’s Youth Ambassadors; Habitat Youth Council founder Alexandra Eduque,  basketball sensation Chris Tiu, GMA news anchor Arnold Clavio, ABS CBN award-winning broadcaster Karen Davila, model/actor Derek Ramsay and TV host Kuya Kim Atienza as Habitat Ambassadors; and Queen of All Media Ms. Kris Aquino as the Habitat Nation-builder ambassador. Ms. Aquino surprised Mr. Zobel de Ayala with her donation to build six houses. A tribute to the late President Corazon Aquino demonstrated the former president’s dedication and passion for nation building and transformation. The event was hosted by ambassadors Karen Davila, Arnold Clavio and Kuya Kim Atienza.

Over 300 guests joined Habitat in its festivities, engaged in a meet-and-greet with the celebrity ambassadors and enjoyed treats from sponsors, such as refreshments from Pepsi, the official thirst quencher, and scrumptious donuts from Krispy Kreme. Attendees pledged their own “I Build…” commitment statements through a photo opportunity sponsored by iFlick Photo Booth. Habitat celebrated the commitment of its Prime Movers in a special gathering with “I Build…” campaign Chairman and Habitat for Humanity International Board of Trustees member Mr. Fernando Zobel de Ayala at Chateau.

Towards one cause chaired by Fernando Zobel de Ayala, “I Build” is a four-year initiative of Habitat for Humanity Philippines that will celebrate 25 years of providing decent shelter for families in need. Habitat works with partners to provide holistic, transformational and sustainable solutions to uplift the lives of Filipino families.  “I Build...” embodies the substance and soul of Habitat. It mirrors Habitat’s continued commitment to build much more than houses. It is a call to action for every sector of society to commit something that will create a meaningful change to the country. The success of the launch event was made possible with the amalgamation of various members of each sector: Ayala Malls for the venue, PricewaterhouseCoopers & Isla Lipana & Co., Philippine Seven Corporation & Philippine Seven Foundation, Inc., Karen Davila, Senator Chiz Escudero, Max’s Restaurant, Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc., Krispy Kreme, iFlick Photo Booth, C2 Iced Tea, Panasonic, K2 Interactive, Inc., the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the Philippine Star, Manila Bulletin and BusinessWorld.

RIO: Blue Macaws Fly to Janeiro!

Waaaaahhhhhh!!! It's just the start of April and I already have my favorite movie of the month!  Nothing else but Angry Birds Rio.

If you're a kid, you will fall in love with the color hues, blue, yellow, orange, red, green, and I just did!  Kids love birds, dogs, monkeys maybe and they are all in this movie.  Your kids will surely love it.

I actually prefer watching kid-friendly movies over comedy romantic movies.  I know, I know, but it does not mean I act like a child (sometimes).  I just really love feel good movies.  No wars, no violence, no morbid happenings.

So what are you waiting for guys?  Put it on your list this April 7!!!

You know that I am not a movie spoiler.  I only tell my experience watching the movie and what I feel.  (",)

Cory Quirino's World of Wellness Health Care Products

What better way is there to try a product before deciding to buy it?  Of course, we need a proof , a testimonial that tells how effective that product is, right?  But you'll be more convince if the owner of the line of products uses it, too!

Well, that is how Ms. Cory Quirino and Ms. Mae Velilla, partners in health, beauty, and wellness do it.  They promote the products but they use it too at the same time.

Last March 28, lifestyle bloggers (including me) explored the "World of Wellness".  We were introduced to over 100 products and the once encircled below are some of the few that Ms. Cory Quirino uses in her day to day life.

World of Wellness is carrying over 200 product lines from the Philippines, Europe, the US, Korea and China, the store will display specialized sections such as Beyond Beauty (Face and   Body), Forever Young, Weight Management, Detox & Cleansing, Health Boosters, Beauty Soaps, Coco Corner, Natural Remedies and Health Heart Snacks. Of particular interest are Healthy Mom & Baby, Male-Power-for-Men Only Male Vitality and Forever Young-Cory’s natural anti aging “secrets-in a bottle.”

Here's a closer look to the products she loves:

Maqui berry is known to have the highest level of antioxidant in the world.

Morin is made from Malunngay fruit not the leaves.

From Ms. Cory Quirino's presentation, I most like the part where she said, "It does not mean that if a product is effective on me, it has a good effect on you, too.  We all have different reactions to many products."  So we really have to try products to see what's good for us.

*WOW World of Wellness Direct Sales is the very first Total Wellness direct sales company in the Philippines.   WOW envisions to provide a venue for Philippine-made products raising the Filipino flag locally, and eventually globally championing all Filipino health, beauty and wellness products.

NOVUHAIR: Let Natural Products Do the Makeover

When my dad has first seen it on TV, he really wants to try NOVUHAIR.  He has been using it for a month's time now and we'll see the results in the next few months because just by now we have seen that his hair and scalp has some good reaction to the product.

I wish I could post a picture of my dad.  A before and after seen but I will ask a permission from him first, okay, guys?

So I was really happy when I was invited to NOVUHAIR's presentation to bloggers last March 28.  I had a better understanding of the product thanks to NOVUHAIR's expert doctor.

NOVUHAIR Scalp and Hair Analysis Machine

These are the components of NOVUHAIR:
Centella asiatica, Moringa oleifera, Zingiber officinale, Aloe barbadensis, Panax ginseng, Biotin, Rosemary, Lavender, Peppermint, Lemongrass, and VCO.

These are all natural guys so no reason for us not to try this product at least.  Now, I know why my dad is not scared of trying it.  I also have this thinning of my hair because of stress maybe, but unlike my dad, I am afraid of using products.  Shampoo and conditioner for me is fine but now that I have a better understanding of the product, I might use it as well.

Like this guy, he is a commercial model and he was not afraid to try NOVUHAIR.  He shared to us his story and look at the results.

See!  Nothing to lose in using natural products (",).

It also has essential oils and co-factor nutrient to enhance its effect in preventing hair loss. NOVUHAIR is approved by the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) as a topical scalp lotion that helps prevent falling hair.
