Tang Pulpy: A Tangy and Puply Chinese New Year

Last year, I celebrated Chinese New Year at Binondo with five other bloggers, Kuya Dom, Doc Gelo, Chyng, Cher, and Josh.  That was really a lucky event for me because after the Binondo Food Wok, I was inspired by these great bloggers to make this blog, Chic & Cheaps.

And now, I am still lucky to celebrate the Chinese New Year at SM Mall of Asia with Tang!

The biggest Chinese New Year celebration in the Philippines ushered in the Year of the Metal Rabbit, and treated Filipinos to a big surprise: a fruity experience from the new Tang Pulpy.

As one of the world’s most colorful festivities, Chinese New Year celebrations are known for their unique rituals and ceremonies, of which dragon dances and pyrotechnic displays are the most popular. These are said to repel evil spirits and attract luck and prosperity. Best of all the Chinese New Year heralds a fruitful new beginning.

What better way to welcome a new year than by presenting a new fruity and pulpy drinking experience? Last February 2, 2011 Kraft Foods Philippines celebrated Chinese New Year with the introduction of Tang Pulpy. Three grand fireworks displays were staged at the SM North EDSA, SM Megamall and SM Mall of Asia, the latter being the venue for the grand Tang Pulpy unveiling.

Before the event, Tang Pulpy geared up the Metro for this very fruity surprise. Three giant mangoes were spotted at the three big shopping malls and generated much curiosity among Manile

Tang Pulpy is the country’s first powdered juice beverage with natural pulpy bits from real mangoes and oranges. It provides an authentic fruit experience for mommy juice drinkers, also enjoyable for kids and whole family. It comes in two of Filipinos’ favorite juice flavors: Tang Pulpy Mango and Tang Pulpy Orange. Pinoys can be guaranteed that Tang Pulpy will be accessible as it is available in affordable 1 liter sachet packs. Moms can make everyday a spectacular one with Tang Pulpy.

“As a leader in the powdered juice beverage category, Tang lives by the Kraft Foods vision to make everyday delicious for Filipinos,” Mark De Joya, Tang Brand Manager for New Product Development shared. “This is why we constantly innovate. Now, we present a more sophisticated juice drink that combines real fruit taste with the flavourful experience of pulp in a powdered beverage format. It’s an innovation that really caters to Pinoy moms and their families.”

Kraft Foods Philippines hopes that Filipinos will delight in the distinctive taste experience of Tang Pulpy. With its pulpy bits creating a flavor explosion in their taste buds, Tang Pulpy can surely make everyday even more delicious, spectacular, and all-around pulp-sarap for the family.

Miracle Whip's Miracle Machine: Whipping Up 12 Miracles 12 Days Before Christmas

Do you have unused books, toys, clothes, BP apparatus, digital thermometers, old bicycle to share?  Here at Miracle Machine, every single donation counts.

Before I attend this event, I was really looking for a not-so-well-known foundation or organization that I will be helping this Christmas, and luckily I only not found one, but 12 organizations!!!

Miracle Machine Facebook application helped me.   How?  Read on, guys, and you too might help pitch in something to make miracles happen this Christmas.

Miracle Whip is all about making good things happen. But this time, Kraft has decided to whip up miracles outside of the kitchen with Miracle Machine.

Miracle Machine is a social network application and its objective is quite simple: to get people and their friends and their friends’ friends working together to make miracles happen for the less privileged people. Think Facebook but instead of status updates and comments, you get opportunities to help.

Last year, when Ondoy mercilessly devastated the country, most of us turned to Facebook as a channel for mobilizing efforts to help thousands of people during those trying times. Miracle Machine aims to do the same, to become a centralized online hub where people from all walks of life can come together and combine their resources to extend a helping hand to those who need it the most.

For the first phase, the Miracle Machine wishes to whip up 12 miracles in 12 days through Facebook in time for the Christmas season.

11 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS FOR 11 BENEFICIARIES

Kythe Foundation hopes to help Angelalyn Magalano, a 13-year-old angel who suffers from Nephoric Syndrome and psoriasis by making her wish come true of meeting a pilot and talk about flying.

Jamboree Mountaineers hopes to make the indigenous tribes’ Christmas in Wawa, Montalban merrier by trekking there and delivering food for Noche Buena.

Childhope Asia hopes to keep street children warm this Yuletide Season by providing them with new underwear and clothes.

Kaeskwela hopes to fill the empty libraries of public schools in far-flung areas in the country with educational books.

The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) hopes to find abandoned dogs and cats new families to take them in by making them adoption-ready through grooming.

Sagip Buhay and Philippine General Hospital hopes to provide medical assistance for those who don’t have the means and access to proper healthcare with new blood pressure devices and Thermoscan thermometers.

Firefly Brigade and Tiklop Society hopes to collect 10 bikes and bike safety gear for people in urban communities to help them get from one place to another faster and safer so they can be more productive in their work.

Tahanang Walang Hagdan hopes to give back to the 326 volunteers who have selflessly devoted their time to the organization by giving them gifts this Christmas.

Resources for the Blind hopes to record an audio storybook for blind children to bring them to the world of wonder and imagination.

Museo Pambata hopes to make 2, 000 children happy this Season of Giving by gifting them with pre-loved storybooks and toys.

St. Martin de Porres Charity Home hopes to spread holiday cheer with a potluck party for the underprivileged kids under its care.

Finally, for the 12th miracle, a fully functional miracle conduit will be made available on the 12th day of December to organizations who need it and people with something to give.

To set the wheels of Miracle Machine in motion, visit http://www.facebook.com/WhippingUpMiracles, click on the Miracle Machine tab. Maybe there’s one miracle or two you’d be able to help us make happen and you might also consider spreading the word to your friends. There might be someone in your friend list or your friends’ friend list who has the means to answer a call for help or support a specific cause.

If we get everyone to pitch in, we can show that as more people become part of Miracle Machine, we get to make more and more amazing things happen!

Kraft Eden's Sarap ng Pasko: World's Longest Christmas Celebration

It was a busy Saturday afternoon because after attending NomNomClub's first anniversary, I, together with the other bloggers, rushed to SM Mall of Asia to witness the world's longest Christmas celebration with Eden's Sarap ng Pasko: 100 Days of Christmas.

As early as September 4, Eden Cheese -- the country's well-loved cheese brand spearheads the world's longest Christmas celebration with Eden's Sarap ng Pasko:  100 Days of Christmas.

We were surprised to see 100 unique cheese-based dishes from 100 towns nationwide to compete as the country's number one dish.  I was happy to see representatives from Las Pinas City (yes, everyone knows I live here), La Union and Pangasinan (and yes, I spent my teenage years on both towns.)  I am really proud they are included in the list.

Las Piñas Boys Choir serenaded us with early Christmas carols.  Cute little boys!

Pilipinas Got Talent Finalists graced the event as Kraft Eden unveil it's blue-lit Christmas tree at SM MOA Music Hall.

And as "The Company" singers grace the audience with their soothing voices, foodie bloggers enjoy Cafe 5845's  oozing-with-cheese recipes.

First time to see a cheese fountain and I love to dip small, soft churros-like bread here.  I thought it was salty but surprisingly the taste was subtle (not so salty, not so sweet).

And I keep coming back for these sweet treats especially the cream-puff-like dessert.  Crunchy on the outside, chewy inside and drizzled with chocolate on top.  Heavenly!  It was made more creamy by Eden Cheese (but you won't notice the cheese.)

From Cafe 5845, let's go to some of the participating towns and their very own original cheese dish.

Vote for your town and help them win P2,000,000 support fund and P100,000 for yourself.  Just send an Eden carton and be counted.  Visit www.sarapngpasko.com or call 72-PASKO for more details.

NOW, these are the town dishes I will surely vote for.  You know why?  It's either I used to live in these towns or there's something special I love about these towns  (i.e. my parents grew there, I've visited the place, I was born on that city, and there's something I love about that place).

Vegetable Florets con Cheese -  Agoo, La Union

What's the town known for?

The town of Agoo is known for their strong faith and devotion. The miracles that have happened in this place like ; the resurrection of a dead five-year old girl and the earthquake of 1892 where the image of Nuestra Senora de Caridad was not damaged have made Agoo famous. So get to know more about this town and have their Vegetable Florets con Cheese while you’re at it.

Cheesy Gluttonous Rice Roll - Alaminos, Pangasinan

What's the town known for?

Alaminos is the home of the world-famous Hundred Islands Natures Park, the very first National Park in the Philippines. With the Hundred Islands known the world over, Alaminos is one place a nature savvy would want to go to. But as for the foodies, indulge in their Cheesy Glutinous Rice Roll and get to appreciate their caves and giant clams as well.

Cheese Boom Bomb (Granada) - Las Piñas City

Once home to former President Emilio Aguinaldo, Las Piñas City is an one of the prominent tactical locations in the South during the Spanish Colonization. Recognized as the most peaceful and cleanest city and Hall of Famer in “clean and green” by the Prestigious Global 500 Roll of Honour of the United Nations Environment Programme, (UNEP), it houses the Bamboo Organ–known as a National Cultural Treasure. Hear the chimes of this monumental spot and be blown away by this city’s Cheese Boom Bomb.

*UPDATES*

After posting this,  I have already collected 3 wrappers and that means I have 3 entries!!!  Good Luck everyone!  Last submission of entries will be tomorrow, December 1, 2010.
