PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES: Red Carpet Premiere at SM North Edsa

WALT DISNEY PICTURES in cooperation with SM Cinema hosts the red carpet premiere of  PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES at IMAX SM North Edsa.

What makes the fun and exciting "PIRATES" different from the other franchise is it's now in  Disney Digital 3D™.
.
Johnny Depp returns to his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in this action-packed adventure that finds him crossing paths (and swords) with the enigmatic Angelica (Penélope Cruz). When she forces him aboard the “Queen Anne’s Revenge,” the ship of the legendary pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected journey to the fabled Fountain of Youth. Along the way Jack must use all his wiles to deal with the barbarous Blackbeard and his crew of zombies, Angelica, the ravishing pirate with whom he shares a dubious past, and the beautiful, enchanting mermaids whose masterful cunning can lure even the most seasoned sailor to his doom. The international cast includes franchise vets Geoffrey Rush as the indestructible Captain Hector Barbossa and Kevin R. McNally as Captain Jack’s longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs, plus Sam Claflin as a stalwart missionary and Astrid Bergès-Frisbey as a mysterious mermaid.

Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) finds himself on an unexpected journey to the fabled Fountain of Youth when a woman from his past (Penélope Cruz) forces him aboard the “Queen Anne’s Revenge,” the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane).

Hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs (Johnson) never misses his target.  When he is assigned to track down Dom and Brian, he and his strike team launch an all-out assault to capture them.  But as his men tear through Brazil, Hobbs learns he can’t separate the good guys from the bad.  Now, he must rely on his instincts to corner his prey…before someone else runs them down first.

The modern-day Beauty and the Beast

Seventeen-year-old Kyle (Alex Pettyfer) is the spoiled, shallow and incredibly popular prince of his high school kingdom.   Entirely captivated and empowered by his own physical appearance, Kyle foolishly chooses Kendra (Mary-Kate Olsen), a witch masquerading as a high school student, as his latest target for humiliation.  Unfazed by his cruel behavior, Kendra decides to teach him a lesson – she transforms him into someone as unattractive on the outside as he is on the inside.  Now he has one year to find someone who can see past the surface and love him, or he will remain “Beastly” forever.  His only hope, a quiet classmate he never noticed named Lindy (Vanessa Hudgens), may be his best chance to prove that love is never ugly.

Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical) and Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four) star in Beastly for CBS Films, the film division within CBS Corporation (NYSE: CBS.A and CBS).  Mary Kate-Olsen (New York Minute), Peter Krause (“Parenthood”), LisaGay Hamilton (“Men of a Certain Age”) and Neil Patrick Harris (“How I Met Your Mother”) co-star.  Daniel Barnz (Phoebe In Wonderland) directed the project which will make its theatrical debut in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico on March 4, 2011.

Susan Cartsonis (No Reservations, What Women Want) produced through her company, Storefront Pictures.  Roz Weisberg is co-producer and Michael Flynn is executive producer.  In addition to his role as director, Barnz wrote the screenplay, which is based on the Alex Flinn novel of the same name.

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: RODRICK RULES

I remember myself laughing all throughout the movie. (",)

“DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: RODRICK RULES” kicks off one year after the first film, with Greg beginning seventh grade.  Greg has mastered middle school, rid himself of the Cheese Touch, and thinks he’s got it all together.  There’s just one problem: Rodrick is trying to ruin Greg’s life.  “The movie is centered on a classic theme, something most people have been through, which is sibling rivalry,” says producer Brad Simpson. “Every day, Greg probably wishes he were an only child.”

Zachary Gordon, Devon Bostick, Rachael Harris, Robert Capron, Steve Zahn and most of the cast from “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” return.  One key new member of the Wimpy Kid family is director David Bowers (“Flushed Away,” “Astro Boy”), making his live-action feature debut.  “This film was like a family reunion,” says Kinney.  “It felt like coming back for a second year of summer camp.”
Also central to the story are Greg’s mom and dad, played by Rachael Harris and Steve Zahn.  Being Greg and Rodrick’s parents is no picnic, but mom Susan Heffley is trying to do her best with the men in her life.  “Susan has started writing a parenting column for the local newspaper about her family and she feels like hers should be a model family,” says Harris. “But Susan’s family is not a model family; they’re the Heffleys.”

“Every parent can relate to Susan’s challenges with her son,” says Nina Jacobson. “There’s no relationship that lasts longer than the one with your siblings, and Susan is desperate to get her boys to be closer.   Her husband, Frank is a little skeptical about her efforts to bring the boys together, knowing that Rodrick is not a great influence.  But Susan will do whatever she can to bring them together.

Sucker Punch: Hits the Big Screen

March 21, 2010 - We were invited by SM Cinema to watch Sucker Punch.  I only know Sucker Punch by seeing the characters at cosplays.  I really have no idea of the if it came from a manga series, but really, a lot are waiting for this fantasy warfare movie.

I love how the five girls battle for their lives and the big lesson here is knowing how to sacrifice.  To know more of what am I talking about, watch Sucker Punch on March 25, guys!  You have the tools, NOW FIGHT!

Thank you very much SM CINEMA!!!

Rango Plus Mars Needs Moms

Rango

At first, I thought Rango was just an ordinary animated 3D movie with voices given life by the biggest Hollywood stars, but it was not.  I heard my friends saying that they wanna watch Rango because of Johnny Depp.  Of course, that was also my reason and because of the funny trailer that I have seen.   Then movie premiere came at Cinema 1, The Podium…

During the first part, I find myself laughing every 3 minutes but as the movie runs, I became more and more aware of our environment.  If you wanna find out what am I talking about, then go and see Rango, guys!

I remember my grade school teacher asking us to pick a movie and review it.  If ever I’m still in grade school at this time, this is the movie that I will surely submit.  Lessons learned?  Check!

Take out the trash, eat your broccoli—who needs moms, anyway? Nine-year-old Milo (Seth Green) finds out just how much he needs his mom (Joan Cusack) when she’s nabbed by Martians who plan to steal her mom-ness for their own young.

Mars Needs Moms” showcases Milo’s quest to save his mom—a wild adventure in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D that involves stowing away on a spaceship, navigating an elaborate, multi-level planet and taking on the alien nation and their leader (Mindy Sterling). With the help of a tech-savvy, underground earthman named Gribble (Dan Fogler) and a rebel Martian girl called Ki (Elisabeth Harnois), Milo just might find his way back to his mom—in more ways than one.

My Top Favorite Eclipse Movie Lines

It's been a week since I've watched "Twilight Saga:  Eclipse", but I still can't get over with Edward's, Jacob's and Bella's movie quotes.

Here are some of my favorites:

From the famous Eclipse "tent scene"...

Jacob to Edward:   "Face it, I'm hotter than you."

Edward to Bella:  "Doesn't he own a shirt?"

Jacob to Bella:  "Does my half naked bother you?"

Bella to Charlie:  "Please - I mean, really, please don't worry about it. Edward is ... Old -school."

Bella to Emmett:  "No. I punched a werewolf."

I really love this line... it made me "Team Edward" more (",)

Edward to Bella:  "I'm from a different era. Things were... less complicated. For instance, I was considered a man at eighteen. Had I met you then....  I'd have courted you.... and called on you at home. We'd have taken chaperoned strolls, or had iced tea on the front porch. I might have even stolen a kiss or two. And after asking you father's permission, I'd have gotten down on one knee...

Well, for those who haven't seen the movie and curious about what scenes these quotes came from, GO WATCH THE MOVIE NOW!!! hehehe

And if you have watched the movie, share with me your favorite lines.  I might like them too and post it here.  Thanks guys!
