RAT Race: The "REAL" Run For A Cause

Please click on photo for details

The title speaks for itself.  Last March 10, we had a meeting with Zonta Club of Ayala Makati, an organization that helps and supports children and women since 1989 through feeding programs and livelihood trainings respectively.  One of the members of Zonta has told us that they have partnered with Visayan Forum Foundation, Inc., an organization that is against human trafficking.  They organized the RAT Race, RUN AGAINST Human TRAFFICKING.  They have said that 50% of the proceeds will go to Visayan Forum Foundation, Inc. to help with the educational program and other needs of the children and women that Visayan Forum is helping.  They also accept in kind donations -- food, clothes, toys, books and other necessities.

WOW! A whooping 50%?  So, I registered on the 3K run and that costs P500, that means P250 will go to charity (another WOW!).  A lot of runs right now are organized to support an advocacy but this is the first time for me to know that there is a big percentage going to the charity.  Most of the runs that I have went to just gave a "part" to their chosen charities.  So guys, you can still register (walk-in) for the run until 5 a.m. of Sunday to help Visayan Forum Foundation, Inc.at McKinley Hills.  I think this is the run that we really should support.

I know this is a rush but it is for a good cause, a really good one.  Thank you, guys!

Thunderbird Resorts: Run For a Cause - Ondoy No More

Remember about my posts on how great Thunderbird Resorts is?  Well, Thunderbird Resorts in not only beautiful "outside" but they are also beautiful "inside".  As Thunderbird Resorts Rizal invites everyone to join ONDOY NO MORE run for the benefit of CARITAS Manila on September 26, 2010.

Guys and gals, for only P500.00 registration fee for 3k/5k/10k, you get a Singlet, RaceBib, Thunderbird Resorts discounts, and most importantly you give a donation to Caritas Manila and help the marginalized communities to prepare for calamities such as typhoons.

I really wanna join but  I hope my work schedule will change in order for me to attend this event.  My last was Condura Run (oh, no! It was way back February 2010!).  I really need to get physically active again!

I also wish to see other bloggers I met at the bloggers tour.  I really miss you, guys!
